Like so many of you, I could not have imagined that things would be the way they are today even a month ago. I am currently home taking care of both my boys, attempting to teach them. We are not on Spring Break, as we had planned to be at this time – and that is ok. Never has there been such a situation where we have to accept that we have no control and be ok with that, while also realizing there are things we can do to help ourselves and other people we may not even know.
In addition to doing ABC’s and teaching basic math, I am also spending time sewing. Some is for fun (i.e. therapy and stress relief) and some is for others. Like many, I am now sewing face masks, too. Again, not what I expected, but we are making the best of it. I’m also trying to update baby books and finish a few other projects around the house. Again, I’m lucky that I am not currently working, trying to juggle entirely too much at an already stressful time (for the moms that are working from home while educating their children, too, hang in there, and no matter what you think, you are doing great). I am thankful to be able to be at home with my children at this time – I know I am lucky in that. I hope that you are able to be with loved ones at this time (and if not, I highly recommend Zoom and other video chat platforms), and that you are able to take in some silver linings among the dark days.
If you have anything you’d like to share, feel free to comment below. I know it is being said way too much right now, but we really are in this together.
