Ah, it’s the New Year. Time for all those resolutions, right?
Two weeks in and I’m feeling mildly inadequate in regards to my efforts to start the New Year off right. Perhaps the lack of work due to the government shutdown has pushed me a bit too far into laziness. Don’t get me wrong, I have been cleaning up around the house, but unlike a few of my friends, I haven’t gone all Konmari-crazy yet. My family and I finally joined to local Y, but I’ve only gone twice so far. I’m blaming the snow we got this weekend.
On my success list, posting this update on my blog. Yay! I know, I know, if you actually read my blog, I’m sure you’d decided I was gone from the interwebs for good this time. But as my last post, published in *gulp* August, alluded to, I have simply been taking a step back to reassess my goals behind even having a blog. I enjoy writing and finding a community to share my interests, thoughts, and even struggles with. And oftentimes, I have ideas of what I want to write about in my head. But putting pen to paper (I mean fingers to keyboard) can be difficult in the day-to-day.
So here’s what I have decided to do. I will continue to post, as it relates to my life. I don’t plan to try and post something just because it seems timely or important to others. If I post something and it strikes a chord, great. But, at least for the moment, I am choosing to ignore the need to ‘figure out my audience’ and post to please them. I will be adding a topic area for quilting, as that is something I am doing more and more of these days, but my other topic areas will, for the most part, remain in place.
For those who choose to stick around, thank you! I appreciate the support and interest in what I have to say. Happy New Year, and I hope you all find what makes you happy this year (whether that includes achieving a goal/resolution or not). It can be a hard thing to do – I know!
