Sometimes, I don’t have enough information to post a full article on a particular topic, but I still want to share. So, I am going to test out doing “What I’m Loving Right Now.” And I’m optimistic that I can do this at least every other Saturday. We will see, won’t we?
I saw this at a friend’s house and ordered two almost as soon as I got home. My son is one and a half and can now reach the sink in his bathroom with this and the help of a small stepstool. This is great for us, because he is learning to wash his hands at school where they have kid-sized sinks and we want to reinforce that behavior. Oh, and this is definitely one of those ‘wish I had invented it’ type of items!
I’ve always loved Madonna, but in my old age 😉 have gotten away from listening to her. But after checking off attending a Madonna concert from my bucket list last September (awesome!), I got back into her music. When I want to feel especially bad-ass or just like I can make it through the day at work, I listen to Iconic. Just consider yourself warned – this album is not for young ears that tend to repeat things. Madonna doesn’t have the cleanest language on the earth.
In a previous post, I mentioned that I have started vegan baking. I finally tried one of the recipes from Plant Powered Families, and boy has it been a hit! I made the Pumpkin Snackles and my son has been devouring them. I actually must admit that I let him eat them for dinner twice since making them Sunday. And it is almost time for a new batch.
My Mother’s Helper!
In case you are unaware, in our neck of the woods, a mother’s helper is kind of like a babysitter in training. Our mother’s helper (who just turned 12) watches our son while we are still in the house and getting some chores (or blogging!) done. She is a God-send, and the going rate around here is $3 to $5 per hour. The best part is that once she is a little older we will have a ready-made babysitter that we already know and who our son is already familiar with.
Ok, I have always been a learner (it is one of my top 5 strengths, after all), but have just discovered the ability to take courses online. Yeah, I am kind of behind the curve on that one. I have resisted the urge to sign up for a Lynda.com subscription thus far, but have found other courses to keep me busy. The latest one I signed up for is Blog Audience Formula from Addi at simplybloggingalong.com. I will let you know what I think!
I hope everyone is having a great weekend, no matter the weather where you are!
